I don't know what to say. I've lost two of my closest friends in the last couple of weeks. When the incident happened with my first friend Kiestler was consistently there for me. He checked in on me constantly and was a major support piece like the great friend he always was. He honestly was more than just a best friend or a coworker but a real brother. He was family to my family. Someone my wife considered family and was a surrogate uncle for my child. Someone I would confide in and he would do the same. From hour long phone calls, to texting all day, or the shenanigans we would get into in person. Many people got the pleasure to know him and I believe everyone who got to are better people because of it. I already miss you brother. Thank you for everything.

I've been sitting with the news, and it's hard to find the right words. Over 10 years ago, you were one of the people who helped shape my path. Your guidance, your training, and the way you showed up for me those things played a huge part in helping me reach my dreams. There are so many memories, both in and out of the fire service, that I'll always carry with me. Your name brings back moments of growth, laughter, and lessons I'll never forget. I wish you had felt able to reach out to someone anyone when things got heavy. You were always there when I had questions or when I was going through something difficult, and you helped me through more than you ever knew. I'm grateful for the time we had, and I hope you've found peace. Thans for the opportunities you opened for me in the fire service from the explorer program to the resident program. I'll never forget our conversation when I got my first career job as a firefighter. Your support and belief in me made a difference I'll carry for the rest of my life.

Today, we pause to remember and honor former Chief Chris Kiestler, a leader whose dedication, integrity, and heart shaped the Boonville Community Volunteer Fire Department. Chief Kiestler led with a steady hand and a servant's spirit - always putting his community and his firefighters first.
His impact lives on in every call answered, every firefighter trained, and every life touched through his commitment to service. He was more than a chief; he was a mentor, a friend, and a cornerstone of our fire family.
To his loved ones, we extend our deepest condolences. Rest in peace, Chief Kiestler.
